Scholarship students for summer school in Germany selected
A cooperation with the IES EU Center Freiburg , Germany, enables the Department of Political Science and International Relations to provide scholarship(s) for a common summer school programme. The scholarship includes the study fees, accommodation and the travel costs of the field trips – around 7.500 Dollar in total. This year Selin Sezgin and Özge Uzelli have been selected as our scholarship students based on their performance in the IREU 308 EU-Turkey Relations course. The two months long summer school offers the opportunity for intensive study of the European Union and its relationships with Turkey and the Western Balkan states. Through the courses, taught in Freiburg (Germany) and Izmir, as well as two one-week long field study trip in Turkey and Bosnia-Herzegovina, students are able to deepen their understanding of the region and experience first-hand the cultural and political landscape of multiple EU accession states. One of the courses in Germany will be given by Asst. Prof. Dr. Alexander Bürgin and the course in Turkey will be given by Asst. Prof. Dr. Işık Gürleyen.
